Aluminium Processing

The aluminium obtained by electrolysis is delivered to specialized factories where it is transformed into semi-finished products, which are themselves intended for consumer industries.

The four major families of transformation processes correspond to four types of production :

  • Rolling plates for the manufacture of sheets of various thicknesses used in aircraft wings, tanks, siding, box manufacture (packaging), thin sheets…

  • Spinning billets, cylindrical, for the manufacture of metal joints, frames and frames of rail and road vehicles, ski poles; and forge billets for landing gear, pressure bottles, etc.

  • Wire rod for electrical use (power transmission and distribution cables) and mechanical use (rivets, welding wire, mesh, etc.)

  • Ingots intended in particular for the foundries (engine blocks for the automobile, for example).
