The aluminium obtained by electrolysis is delivered to specialized factories where it is transformed into semi-finished products, which are themselves intended for consumer industries.
The four major families of transformation processes correspond to four types of production :
Rolling plates for the manufacture of sheets of various thicknesses used in aircraft wings, tanks, siding, box manufacture (packaging), thin sheets…
Spinning billets, cylindrical, for the manufacture of metal joints, frames and frames of rail and road vehicles, ski poles; and forge billets for landing gear, pressure bottles, etc.
Wire rod for electrical use (power transmission and distribution cables) and mechanical use (rivets, welding wire, mesh, etc.)
Ingots intended in particular for the foundries (engine blocks for the automobile, for example).
