Pour la première fois, le Moulin noir de Nanterre – la première usine au monde spécialement dédiée à la production d’aluminium – est sur le devant de la scène historiographique. Dans un ouvrage richement illustré, l’étonnante personnalité de Paul Morin est au cœur d’une aventure scientifique, technique et humaine, à une époque où l’aluminium était un métal semi-précieux! Les auteurs présentent les résultats d’une recherche qui vient d’être publiée.

Le numéro 37 des Cahiers se penche sur les « métiers » de l’industrie de l’aluminium
Cet été, le numéro 37 des Cahiers pour l'histoire de l'aluminium est paru. Ce numéro consacre un dossier aux métiers de l’industrie de l’aluminium. Études inédites et témoignages de gens « de métier » offrent un panorama qui explore, de l’extraction de la bauxite à la fabrication de produits semi-finis, la diversité des situations, des techniques, des organisations dans les entreprises du secteur de l’aluminium au Canada et en France. For the first time, the "Black Mill" of Nanterre – the first factory in the world to be specifically dedicated to aluminium production – is in the historical foreground.
In a lavishly illustrated book, the astonishing personality of Paul Morin is in the center of a scientific, technical and human adventure, in a time when aluminium was a semi-precious metal!
The authors present the results of a research which was recently published.
